Bambrews Bags, an Eco-Friendly Packaging Startup, Raises INR 60 Crore From Blume Ventures and Other Investors

Blue Ashva Capital, Mumbai Angel and Indus Capital were some of the entities which took part in the venture funding round through a mix of equity and debt. Bambrew will put the funds into an extension for FMCG and food and beverage packaging, as well as into the production capabilities and research and development section and personnel. The company Bambrew, launched in 2019 by Vaibhav Anant, offers disposable and eco-friendly packaging that is degradable and a way to cut down on single-use plastics.

Bambrew, an environmental firm, has secured INR 60 Cr (over $7 Mn) from investors in a Series A financing round, led by Blume Ventures, comprising both equity and debt.

Aurovayna Capital, Mumbai Angels, Indus Capital, and angel investors Mandeep Manocha of Cashify, Sreevathsa Prabhakar of Servify, and RK Narayan of Horizon Industrial Parks also invested in the round.

According to a company’s statement, the capital will be used to expand the range of packaging options for fast-moving consumer goods, food and beverage product categories, the production capacity and R&D. The number of employees will also increase.

Bambrew, established in 2019 by Vaibhav Anant, offers different packaging options to save the heaps of single-use plastics. The business asserts that, its products are biodegradable and animal-friendly.

He made a note on the funding: “We are a multi-situational outfit with offerings across categories in primary and secondary packaging. We will deploy the funds on enlarging our footprint in categories including but not limited to various types of primary packaging and helping companies adopt more sustainable and functional materials.”

Sustainable packaging will stand out as the next big thing alongside FAME II subsidy. The sustainability regulations mean certainly a rise of circular packaging companies in the future soon. This investment is driven by the company’s strategic focus on shipping far beyond order fulfillment and product supply to e-commerce and FMCG, cementing this as the team’s main strength. Secondly, this venture proves to be exceptional because of their ability to innovate and ensure they are ahead of the competition.

Bambrew says that it has increased its startup size by 100 times compared with time of its establishment. The campaign insists on using legally approved products by both the Indian Government and the Central Pollution Control Board as the biodegradable and compostable once in 130 days.

Bambrew’s clients include Amazon, Nykaa, My Glam, Bata, Snitch, Harris Brushes, and Mahindra. 

Cleantech products are in high demand as people become more aware of the need to protect the environment and combat global warming, as well as the growing importance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. This has resulted in the formation of several cleantech firms in the country, as well as increased investor interest in the industry.
